The Best Time to See Puffins: The colony is normally active from May to September, with the peak of activity occurring from late June to late August.
Amenities Note: At present there are no onsite washroom facilities. However, public washrooms are available at the Tourist Information Centre located in Elliston.
Parking & Arrival: Parking is available at the site on a gravel lot which can accommodate 25–35 vehicles. Note that the road to the site is narrow with tight turns and should be navigated with care.
Donations: Entry is free, but your donations at the entry kiosk are essential in helping us maintain the path and protect the site.
The Journey: The "Puffin Path" is approximately 400m long and extends from the parking lot to the viewing site.
What to Wear: The terrain includes gravel, exposed bedrock, and turf. There are many natural tripping hazards along the trail so sturdy footwear is essential.
The Elements: The area is barren and very open to the elements with little protection from the wind. Visitors should dress in layers and be prepared for sudden changes in weather.
Scenic Highlights: Keep an eye out for the root cellars and traditional gardens located at the start of the trail.
